Steps for GST Registration

Step 1: Visit the GST portal
GST Registration can be done online, and the process is simple. To register for GST, visit the GST portal https://www.gst.gov.in Click on the ‘Services’ tab and select ‘Registration’ from the drop-down menu.
Step 2: Fill in the necessary details
You need to fill in your basic details, such as the type of GST Registration being obtained, name, address, and email id. You also need to provide details about your business, such as the legal name of your business, the nature of your business, the address of the business, email id, and provide mobile number.
Step 3: Obtain the OTP
Once you have filled in all the details, One Time Password (OTP) is sent to the registered mobile number and email id. You need to enter the OTP to proceed with the registration process. In the future, the email id and Mobile Number will be fetched from the PAN Card of the Applicant.
Step 4: Provide additional details
After entering the OTP, you need to provide additional details such as the details of the authorized signatory, details of the proprietor/partners/directors, bank account details, and proof of business registration.
Step 5: Submit the application
After completing all required fields, you must submit the application. You will receive an Application Reference Number (ARN) on the mobile number and email address associated with your account.
Step 6: Verification of application
After submission of the application, the application is verified by the GST officer. The officer may ask for additional information or documents if required.
Step 7: Approval of application
Once the application is verified, the GST officer approves the application, and you will receive the GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number).
